When my friends Mike and Leslee moved to Corvallis to work at the University, I told them that we would come to visit them every other year for the football game and our bi-annual trip was born. The Cougs have been so bad that we were mostly looking forward to tailgating and live football and didn’t have much hope for anything else.

So, we bundled up in the cold and rain and headed to an OSU tailgating party. The Beavers were very nice to us. After all, we were supposed to provide a guaranteed W for them. Our friends have a 13 month old who was decked out and looking adorable.

Since this a week late, you all know the outcome of Saturday’s game. The Cougs FINALLY broke their conference losing streak. This was their first Pac-10 win in 16 games. It was SO much fun to be there. The Cougar fans sprinkled in the crowd started to liven up and all of a sudden, the cold and rain didn’t matter because we were about to witness a cougar victory in person at an away game. It was such a great feeling! My cougar pride was swelling, especially watching the players circle around their fans to sing the Cougar fight song and do something that they didn’t have much practice with…winning!

GO COUGS!!
Oh, and the rest of the weekend was fun too. Mike and Leslee were great hosts. Roxy is so entertaining with her larger than life personality. Sorry that your team had to be the one to go down to the Cougs. That couldn’t have felt good…
