Good luck and travel opportunities

While I was away in the mid-west (yes, that is what people from Ohio consider themselves), Jake attended the Big Brothers, Big Sisters gala and auction.  Last year, we scored an amazing deal on our Vegas trip but also wrote an unexpected check. This year, Jake decided not to bid on anything big but still support the organization by attending.  At the last minute, he decided to buy a $100 ticket to the Golden Ticket raffle figuring that at least he could give them a small donation. 

And you can probably guess whose name was called…Jake’s!  There were 63 tickets sold and Jake won the Golden Ticket.  This meant that he could pick ANY auction item for the small price of $100.  Now, Jake had sipped on a few glasses of wine and I was not there so he felt a ton of pressure but decided on a 1-bedroom condo for a week in Mazatlan, Mexico (valued at $1,500)!!  We plan to use this for our first family vacation with the babe next December and luckily have enough miles for 2 plane tickets.

Jake was thrilled with his victory.  Winning trips is pretty awesome and now we have both have had the experience!

I think we will have to return to the BBBS auction every year. Yeah for [close to] free travel opportunities!
