Summer Travel
My extended maternity leave made it possible to book 2 vacations in the next month. The first one is to Phoenix. We are traveling for a wedding reception at the end of August. The temps during this time should stay above 100 degrees which I am not so excited about. However, lodging is crazy cheap so we are staying at a 5 star resort for just over $100 per night. This will be our first plane...

Ellis @ 12 weeks
Ellis learned some pretty cool tricks this week. The main one was rolling over. She rolled over on Saturday for the first time and then again on Sunday. This time she rolled over 4 times in a row! Interestingly enough, she has not done it since and decided that she is not so into tummy time anymore.
Her other trick is grasping objects. She has a toy hanging from her car seat (Mr. Tweets)...
Summer fun with cousins
We finally got a nice enough day to head to the pool at Birch Bay and take a swim. Well, my neices took a swim while Ellis and I did a little sunbathing.
Don’t worry, there was still time for baby cuddling! I am so happy that I still have 2 more months off work. I can’t wait to enjoy August and September with my girl. I sure hope that our summer weather is FINALLY here.
Ellis @ 11 weeks
This week Ellis had her 2 month check up with Dr. Kelley, even though she is almost 2 and a half months old. I was actually really excited about this visit since we weren’t dealing with weight issues or breastfeeding drama any more. Here are her stats:
Weight: 11 pounds, 3 ounces (50th percentile)
Height: 24.75 inches (above 95th percentile)
Head: 38.5 centimeters (10th percentile)

Adventure of the week - Baby n Me class
This week Ellis and I started a parenting class that we go to together. There are 12 other babies in the class ranging from 2.5 months (Ellis is the youngest) to 10 months. I love getting connected with so many moms in Bellingham through all the different groups that I am a part of. It is so great to learn from other moms and to share a bit about what I have figured out so far.
A lot of class...
Children's Art Festival
My Dad has volunteered for the Children’s Art Festival with his clay booth since I was in high school. I try to make it every year but until now, I have never had my own child. Here is Ellis trying her hand with a clay pot with Grandpa’s help.
I can’t wait for next year when Ellis will be old enough to love the crafts and let’s hope next year the sun decides to come...
Ellis @ 10 weeks - Aquasox baseball game
To celebrate Ellis’ 10 week birthday, we took her to her first baseball game. The Aquasox were hosting a Cougar Alumni night so we took the opportunity to let Ellis Coug out and visit with her friends (the Koehlers and the Gibsons) who live down south.
She is wearing her WSU onsie that Karli made before she was born. Isn’t it so cute? I couldn’t get over how cute she looked...
Happy Bastille Day!
In honor of Bastille Day, I bought Ellis this cute bib…
…these cute placemats…
…and had a lunch date at the frenchy Temple Bar which included a prix fixe menu and day drinking.
Suncadia
This is where Ellis spent most of her pool time, sleeping in her tent. She took a 3 hour nap while we sunbathed and swam.
Hanging out with Daddy. Yeah for sun!
Ellis is such a cool chick.
On Saturday night, both Ellis and I put on pretty dresses to go out for a nice dinner. My one complaint about Suncadia is the restaurant options on site. They are all super expensive and fancy. Not...
Ellis @ 9 weeks
Not really too much to update on this week (see 2 month post) but how cute is this little girl during bath time? She LOVES bath time with Mommy or Daddy in our big tub.
Babies, babies, babies!!
It is so fun to have all these babies around that are right around the same age. What do you do with a tent and 3 baby girls? Load them all in and take a million pictures. I like to think of them as adults and us bringing out these pictures to show them. And don’t worry, there are 15 more where these came from!
Allie May, Ellis and Addelyn (aka Allie, Ellie and Addie). So cute!!
4th of July Festivities
I think that 4th of July is one of those holidays that will be so much better with Ellis here. Having a family to bring to the parade and play with in the sun made this weekend such a special one. Of course, Ellis is too young to really appreciate America’s birthday but she definitely dressed the part while we touted her around the state with friends and family!
We started the weekend...
Kicking off 4th of July weekend right
Our 3 day weekend started with a long drive to Lacey, WA. Our 10 year old niece was playing in a softball tournament and the whole family was visiting from Moses Lake. Ellis got to meet 2 more or her cousins plus her Aunt Becky and Uncle Roy.
It was really nice and sunny in Lacey and it was so much fun to watch the girls play ball. Paige’s team, the Rattlers, won both games that we got...
