Ellis @ 8 weeks - Strawberry Fields
To celebrate Ellis’ 8 week birthday, the Konings and I went out to Boxx Berry Farms to pick some strawberries. Yes, Amelia is wearing her winter coat.  It was not very warm for the last day of June. I did not get too many strawberries since Ellis pretty much cried the whole time.  Even though she was a sad girl, I had to capture her themed strawberry shirt.  After picking, we went...

Adventure of the week - Work out time!
Today, Ellis and I went to our first Stroller Strides class.  It was raining and horrible weather but such a great workout!  The class is all moms, of course, with their babies.  We stroll around Boulevard Park, on the trails, up the stairs, etc.  The class runs 3 times a week and I think Ellis and I are going to become regulars!

Adventure of the week - Our first overnight
This weekend Ellis had the great opportunity to meet many family members and hang out with some of her favorites.  My cousin just graduated from high school and turned 18 so we went down to celebrate with her.  They live in SeaTac so we decided to stay the night in Seattle with Jodie, Jake’s first cousin.  My niece Paiton is Ellis’ #1 fan.  She follows us around and points out how...

Summer with a 7 week old
This week, Ellis turned 7 weeks and the most significant thing is that she started sleeping through the night!  This allowed Jake and I to get some much needed Mommy and Daddy time.  With the baby asleep by 8 or earlier, we could enjoy a warm, summer evening on our patio.  The newest addition to our outdoor fun is Jake’s Father’s Day gift, a firepit.  We sipped on a bottle of red and...

Ellis' first outdoor concert
Summer in B-ham is all about outdoor concerts.  There is live music at every farmers market plus special shows at various parks weekly throughout the summer months.  Tonight, Ellis attended her first show at Elizabeth Park.  We met up with lots of friends, picnicked on the grass and enjoyed the open air music.

Happy 6 weeks baby girl!
Miss Ellis is growing up and her 6 week birthday has been a fun one.  Things really started to change for us at 6 weeks.  Her schedule has began to even out and I am gaining confidence in knowing what she needs.  This makes her very portable and makes me very happy.  This week, we had lunch dates or walks every day of the week.  It is really important for my sanity to get out of the house each...

Welcome Allie May!
I was lucky enough to be able to meet this cutie within her first 24 hours of life!  I can only dream of the trouble that Allie and Ellie might cause us someday! The Koehlers enter their whole new world as a family of 4.   I can’t wait to watch this little one grow up! Even though Ellis was only 5 weeks old when Allie was born, I was amazed at the difference between them.  Ellis was...

Post pardem fashion must have
I am currently in between my maternity clothes and my regular clothes, especially in shirts.  Breastfeeding has increased my bra size by 2 cups and I just can’t fit into many dresses and shirts.  I have wiggled back into a few pairs of pre-pregnancy jeans and have lots of leggings and other stretchy pants. My perfect solution for comfortable tees that are still in style come from Target...

Ellis' Newborn Pics
Here is a selection of some of my favorite newborn pictures of Ellis.  I was amazed at how many shots we got considering how much our girl wanted to cry and pee all over the place on that day.  Our photographer, Lisa Marie, did a great job.  Check out her Facebook page for more pics!

WatchWatch
I thought the sleeves on this were a little ridiculous and slightly ga ga -esque. Ellis really should have tried it on.

4 weeks old
Jake started his new job this week.  Of course, I realize how lucky I was to have him with us for an entire month but I was so sad to see him go.  Raising a newborn is much harder with only one set of hands!  I noticed that I took very few pictures this week.  However, I did manage this cutie on Thursday.  Ellis and I made it out on our own for a couple non exciting errands today so it was an...
