No Rihanna for you →
Boo! My Rihanna concert just got cancelled for “production reasons”.  Of course I am the sucker who bought super expensive tix right when they were released.  I guess they didn’t sell enough tix?  She is skipping Seattle all togehter and kicking off the tour in Seattle.  My Friday just opened up…now what to do?

Local Bham pic of the week
Check out a local race! Of course, I attend these to watch Jake but they are fun events even if you don’t know anyone racing.  Many people are pushing themselves mentally and physically in a very public way so the vibe is super positive and fun.  This year (Jake’s 3rd), we had several competitors to watch.  The weather was pretty awful but we made the best of it.  He beat his time by...

Happy blog B-day to bigsare.com!
I got an email today to wish my little blog a happy birthday!  I remember my first post about Jake’s triathalon at Lake Padden.  He will compete in this same race on Saturday for the 3rd year in a row. I think if my future children are anything like me, they will love reading about their parents adventures and seeing pictures of themselves as they grow up.

Happy, Happy Hour
Finally!  2 sunny days in a row.  To celebrate, I enjoyed my favorite happy hour spot…my backyard.  After working LONG hours this week already and staring this morning at 6:30am in the office, I was ready for a glass of Cave B 100 Chardonnay (delish!) and a Trader Joes appetizer special.

Local B-ham pic of the week
On this Fathers Day, we hit up one of the season openers in the summer’s long series of outdoor concerts.  For many reasons, I love living in Bellingham and I especially love summer in Bellingham.  Starting the last week of June, there are a variety of outdoor shows on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in at least 5 different locations. Our Father’s Day show took...

Tom Petty @ the Gorge
To cap off a beautiful weekend in Central Washington, we piled in a minivan to attend the Tom Petty concert.  Karli and I were riding high school style in the way back. The Gorge Amphitheater is a gorgeous location.  This was my 5th concert.  Sadly, something went wrong with the ticketing organization and we ended up waiting in line for 2 HOURS and missed the ENTIRE opening act. The only thing...

Triathalon season underway in Moses Lake
Jake and Wade ran the Moses Lake Family Tri again this year.  Jake completed the Olympic distance this year which consists of a 1 mile swim, 22 mile bike ride, and 10K run.  When Jake finished the grueling race, he said:  “That is officially the hardest thing I have ever done.”  Here he is crossing the finish line with his 2 nieces running him in.

I just got caught up on some TV, including my fave show Friday Night Lights.  As usual, this episode turned into CryFest 2010.  I love that cute Matt Saricen has fans who think he is as good as I do!

Local B-ham pic of the week - Downtown Art Walk On the first Friday of every month, there is an art walk downtown.  The shops and galleries are open late and often serve sippers and treats.  There are also food and drink specials at many downtown restaurants.  Erin and I had dinner at the Chuckanut Brewery and then sat down for a drink at Bayou on Bay.  There were tons of people on the street,...
