This is what life looks like in color.
Don’t freak out but Jake and I actually bought something colorful for our house over the weekend. I am always drawn towards grays and browns and have the hardest time incorporating in anything new.
We bought 2 of these chairs at Pier One over the weekend to FINALLY finish furnishing our front room, plus lots of accent pillows.

We started Saturday out by meeting my parents in Deming and jumping in their VW bus which looks something like this.
Then, we drove up to a trail head called Horseshoe Bend. The trail follows the river and is really pretty.

Karil’s cousin is in this band and a few of us went to hear them jam at the Tractor Tavern in Ballard on Saturday Night.

WatchThis weekend, as you all know, was Round 2 of the NCAA tournament. This means that there are a lot of fun basketball games to watch and Jake and Amir posted their annual March Madness video! Although this one is good, I really liked last year’s.

Sales this weekend
This weekend are several sales events that I plan to visit.
1. Gap Friends and Family event - good for 30% off evertything at Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy (plus the outlet stores!!)

Local B-ham pick of the week
Irish pub crawl on St. Parick’s Day.
OK we only made it to 2 places but were fully immersed in the spirit of the Irish. First up, Archer Ale House. This is a fun Irish pub with a great beer selection and traditional pub fare. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table but had Hofbraus and a great Irish band keep us busy.

St. Patrick's Day Weekend
Erin and I met up on Saturday for some downtown B-ham fun. Our first stop was for coffee and a croissant at La Vie en Rose. From there, we took our coffee to go and watched the parade. The sun came out just in time!

Vegas vacation
Today, we booked Vegas for late May. We got a condo for a week in an auction at Summer Bay Resorts for a really good price. This place is slightly off the strip and has a full kitchen so we can do some dining in. Now, a week in Vegas sounds a bit overwhelming so I think on this trip we will venture out a bit. My friend Lisa from Mount Vernon High School owns a restaurant in Manhattan Beach called Lido di Manhattan. She bought the place when she was only 23. On Thursday, she will be featured on Kitchen Nightmares (8:00pm on FOX).
