Back to School Incentive
I have been seriously considering another Masters program starting on September 8.  The program I am looking at is a Masters in Mental Health Counseling.  It includes 2 (6) day residencies over the course of the program.  This gives you a chance to develop and practice Counseling skills and do other awful things like videotape and critique yourself.  Just found out that there is a residency...

Big Sare exploding on the world wide web.. →
Someone found a little review on this blog for a restaurant in MV and asked to put it on their website!  Check the link for the only review to the Rachawadee Cafe.  I hope this secures at least some extra helpings on the house for Jake, since he is a regular!

Hands down my favorite part of the Hangover.
Alan Garner: Do you know if the hotel is pager friendly?
Lisa: What do you mean?
Alan Garner: I'm not getting a sig' on my beeper.
Lisa: I'm not sure.
Alan Garner: Is there a payphone bank? Buncha payphones? Business.
Lisa: Umm, there's a phone in your room...
Alan Garner: That'll work.

WatchWatch
This song came up on Napster today and I remembered that this Wyclef video was one of my favorites ever made.  I used to love MTV and music videos, especially in the 90’s, and I still watch them every time I am at the gym in the am.  This song came out in 1997, so naturally I love it.  Re-watch the video if you haven’t in a while.  It is so great.  It combines a dance off, a lighted...

I knew I loved Obama... →
This article is written by Joe Biden’s wife who is a community college faculty member.  She has continued teaching, even after her husband was elected Vice-President of the United State.  Now that is committment…  She is talking about Obama’s new initiative to increase graduation rates amount college students with special emphasis on the CC system.  It all makes me smile.

Back to the Future...
…is in my DVD player right now.  Jake would argue that this is the best trilogy ever made.  There was one semester in college that we didn’t pay for cable and we probably watched these 3 movies 10 times.  Back to the Future 2 takes place in 2015.  It is hilarious to see what was being predicted and even funnier to see how many things are not too far off.  I especially love the...

myaujourdhui: Wow, this kid was KILLING me at the Bastille day festival yesterday.  His dance moves were even crazier than anything I am capable of (and that is saying quite a lot!). At first, the little girl was trying to dance with him and he was NOT having it. He yells “STOP!!!” and goes solo with some ridiculously cool moves including lots of quick feet and some Flashdance-style steps. I...

Girls Night In
On Friday, Heidi invited us over to her place to spend the night.  Amazingly, Becki, Kris and I were all available!  It was so fun to finally meet baby Gavin and hang out with baby Carson.  Heids made her famous mac and cheese and homemade ice cream sandwhiches.  I think it has been years since we all got to hang out together without boys.  We sipped on white wine and talked about babies until...

If Southern California reminds me of one thing, it is fast food.  Both my snack at Del Taco and lunch at In-N-Out remind me of my youth.  Never again should I eat both in one day but on this Independence Day, I made an exception.
