A little hiking...
Activity #2 was a hike up to Fragrance Lake with my friend Tawny. I got a bit burnt from laying in the sun in my backyard so this shady hike (2 miles up and 2 miles down) felt just right!
Local B-ham pick of the week
It is finally time for Ladies Night Out in downtown B-ham. Toby and I picked up our tix and maps last week. This event should be fun, fun, fun. If I play my cards right, I should be able to sip on wine, cosmos, mojitos and mimosas, while nibbling on cupcakes and other treats - all for free! There is also an outdoor concert and tons of sales in all the cute boutiques downtown. All this is...
Casa Mila
This Gaudi building is right across the street from the other one and this is where Miss Mila gets her name. Barcelona plane tickets are around $475 right now. Any takers??

Karli has a GREAT description of Ski to Sea with more pictures and recap on her blog. Enjoy!
Everything’s got a moral, if only you can find it.

Who loves a deal?
As some of you know, I have been dabbling in the pool lately. I have always swam in one of my older 2 pieces that has ridiculous ties in multiple places. Is is a sure fire way for others to know that you are an amateur. So, I waited out the Joes’s sale and found this guy for $15.00!! Regularly, $74.00, on sale on-line for $55.00. Such a deal!
The other night I swam 1050 meters total...
Memorial Day = Ski to Sea
Each Memorial Day, Jake and a team of 8 others participate in 8 leg race that starts at Mount Baker and ends in Bellingham Bay. The weekend is packed with tons of people and fun activities. Not to mention the 8 million dollars the race brings in to Whatcom County.
Our house is always filled with out of town guests/racers and we don’t even have to fight traffic on Memorial Day (except to...
Coffee, peace and love, man
I recently went to a concert at the Three Trees Coffeehouse in downtown B-ham. One of my co-workers sings gospel music and was singing a small set on Thursday night. I had never been to this joint before. While on their website, I was cracking up at the description of this place…
Another coffee shop in Bellingham?
Yes. Yet another place to buy coffee in the espresso-obsessed...
Duh to the max, Dick.
– Bush to Cheney, played by Will Ferrell and Darrell Hammond on SNL over the weekend.
Caring for Your Introvert →
Anyone know any introverts? I bet you do. This article and the links to follow up articles are a must read. Many of my best friends, closest family members and my partner are all intoverts (which is not a bad thing!!). This will help you not to drive these people any more crazy than you already do.
Local B-ham pic of the week - Welding Rodeo
This week my “pic” comes from my very own place of employment, Bellingham Technical College. The Rodeo happens each May on Friday and Saturday and basically teams of 4 welders from across the State compete in a sculpture competition. They collect scrap metal in the morning and have 8 hours to create a sculpture related to a theme (similar to the TV show junkyard wars). There is also...
Birthday Central Weekend
3 days, 3 birthdays to celebrate.
#1 - Scotty Browns for drinks and snacks to celebrate Erin
#2 - Bobby’s Hawaiian Style Restaurant for dinner to celebrate Becki
#3 - Chuck E. Cheese for games and cupcakes to celebrate my niece Maddy
Possibly the best "Office" ever →
Enjoy this article which recaps the show. It was SO hilarious last night. I seriously need to have a Cafe Disco at my workplace and I wish Erin was my friend.
That’s right. It’s a dance off. If you haven’t watched the episode, please watch it on your TIVO. And if you don’t have a TIVO, watch it on hulu.com and FYI it’s 2K9, Seriously.

…In the same summer?!? Who needs a vacation? Well, I mean there is nothing wrong with both amazing musical theatre and vacations, right? I think that is what they call the good life!
