The real Strawberry Field in Liverpool. This is where it all began…
Toby and I are soaking it all in. This is our first time exploring in Astoria (Queens), New York.
Pre-Vacation Fun
A day off work is a day off work. No matter what. So, even though Toby and I had to get up at 5:30am on Friday, we decided to go out. You could call it a double date, or I guess a triple date. Just me, Toby and AJ out for dinner and dancing, no big deal. We saw a great band at the Wild Rover who played awesome hip-hop medleys that you couldn’t help but dance to. Plus an appearance by a...
Blue Moon and Carson Paul
So, it is time to go way, way back before my NYC trip started. Toby and I left Bellingham at 5:30pm on Thursday, March 26th, 2008. First stop, the Koehler’s. Becki loves Blue Moon beer (with oranges, of course). In one stop, I got to hold Baby Carson and drink a beer with Beckster. Her first since the news of pregnancy. I was honored! Cheers, Carson, Paul and Becki!!
Rachawadee Cafe...Finally!
On the way home from the hospital in Everett, Jake and I stopped in Mount Vernon for dinner at the cutest little Thai restaurant. The tiny place is in an old kitchen counter and literally consists of 10 ten stools for guests to sit at. Jake eats here about once a week for lunch and always talks about how delicious the food is. For $9, I ordered the Cashew Nut with vegetables and brown rice and...
Of course it was more fun last year when the Cougs were in but I still love March Madness. Enjoy this hilarious video from Jake and Amir to get you in the mood for some serious basketball. “I don’t know if you knew, but I am really sick. I have March Madness…fever…and pneumonia.”

The Cougs did not make it to the Tournament this year but still received this awesome recognition. This season definitely had its ups and downs. It is time to say goodbye to Rochestie and our other seniors and get ready for next year. Hopefully, we will win a few games in football this year!
Local B-ham pick of the week - Quintessential...
This weekend we welcomed AJ and Toby to the Fowler house. We wanted to take AJ, visiting from Kirkland, to a place that showed him the feel of B-ham and was also super fun. Our dinner selection was Boundary Bay Brewery. There is no place more B-ham than this. We sipped on pints of delicious beer and ate vegetarian entrees.
Next stop, the Fairhaven Pub and Martini Bar, known mostly for great...
Let's play Seattle!
This week, I had the chance to attend the NASPA National Conference held at the Convention Center in Seattle. Our travel budget at work is non-existent right now so I stayed for 3 nights with Kris and Michelle. Kris and I got up early each morning, had coffee together and hopped on the bus to be downtown commuters. Kris even let me wear her fancy Zara coat. It was SO fun!! I love...
We're going, going, back, back to Toole County.
Just as I was posting about taking more vacations, I am in the process of planning our next one in April. Yep, we are hitting the road to attend a wedding in Shelby, Montana. A visit to Jake’s hometown and mine in the same year. I know you are jealous…
Okay... maybe I will go back to school!

Liverpool Hope University in Liverpool, England (a city we all know I am obsessed with!) has launched the Master of Arts degree in The Beatles. Living in Liverpool and studying the Beatles all day? Yes please!
It has been a good week for Beatles fans!!
What will you be doing on 9.9.09? →
I will be spending ridiculous amounts of money on new Beatles themed guitars, finally investing in the other RockBand Instruments, playing the greatest new game ever, and upgrading to a PS3.
This made me lol... →

Martha Stewarts blogs about her lunch with Luda. He liked the chocolate cake.
Reseach notes that people who take regular vacations were 40% less likely to die...
– Cheesy HR flyer called Tyme Management, circulates at work, pointed out by Toby
So, since I have a lot of heart disease in my family, I guess I need to take twice as many vacations as the average person. Sounds good to me!!
