Surprise!! Vancouver weekend
For Jake’s birthday this year, I surprised him with a trip to Vancouver.  I also invited our great friends, PK and Kristen.  I told him on Saturday morning of the plan and then our friends showed up at the house.  We started at Granville Island for lunch, checked into the hotel, had dinner in Yaletown and went gambling at the casino.

Happy 30th Birthday!
Today, my husband, partner and best friend celebrated 30 years.  We have been together for over a decade and this marks the 10th birthday that we celebrated together.  For Jake’s 20th, I brought him to Mount Vernon for the first time.  We went out to dinner in LaConner, I wore a skirt and we watched a movie.  I think I bought him clothes.  I remember this being quite stressful since I had...

Seahawks season
Just so we are clear, I have been to 3 Seahawks regular season games and 1 pre-season game so far this year.  My viewing record stands at 4-0.  Now if we could only get those boys to win when I was NOT at the game, we would be in good shape!  One more game to go this season.  Let’s hope for everyone’s sake that record I get to see these victory fireworks one more time in December!

Beatles X-mas song - who knew?
On the way to work this morning, my Sirius beeped at me to let me know that a Beatles song was on the radio.  I clicked over to listen and found that it was a Beatles Christmas song, called Christmas Time is Here Again.  How did I not know that this song existed?? Unfortunately, the song was kind of awful but the four boys personally wishing me happy holidays in their adorable English accents...

Walla Walla mini vacation
Picture via Michelle - isn’t is nice? I am in love with this little town and got to visit from Tuesday until Sunday.  Jake and I went over for an AgForestry seminar focused on crime and corrections.  My camera went dead and I didn’t take one picture but here are a few of the highlights. Most of our seminar was held at Whitman College.  We also had a hosted dinner here on...

Live auction
Jake wanted to bid on the day sailing trip for 4 but unfortunately this item was picked in the pre-auction raffle.  But, a really nice couple at our table said they had a sail boat and they would take us for free!  We exchanged numbers and plan to meet up in the spring! We were the only bid on one other item.  It was a deal that couldn’t be passed up.  We got 2 round trip tickets to Las...

Silent Auction
I always enjoy silent auctions, expecially knowing that my funds are going to a good cause.  During the silent auction, we won 3 items.  1.  A luxury bath set and gift certificate to a local boutique $38.00 2.  2 rounds of golf at a Leavenworth course $50.00 3.  $50 worth of coffee cards at Cafe Ladro $22 I couldn’t beleive that the coffee money was going to such a low price!  I...

We'll have a gala old time..
Jake and I were excited to attend our first gala and auction and to support Big Brothers, Big Sisters.  We dressed up and went down to the Country Club on Saturday night.  Unfortunately, we didn’t realize that almost everyone there had an assigned table and apparently NO ONE bought tickets online like us.  So, feeling a bit out of place already and clearly not understanding gala rules, we...
