Today, I am a technical genius
Yep, figured out how to add a comments section - a function that is does not come with Tumblr. Also, wrote some HTML code to mess with the format and link to a few non-Tumblr blogs. I thought I needed Kris to teach me all things “techie”, but I did it all by myself!!
I decided to get serious about the comment thing after 3 individual complaints from friends over the weekend.
2 things I love about hotels.
1. I get to watch TV in bed. My ultimate guilty pleasure.
2. CABLE!!
Today, I stumbled on Coach Carter. A great movie which includes sports and kids from the hood who never had a chance. Translation: Sarah has goosebumps the entire movie. Please see the previous post for one of the most moving scenes. I was almost crying within 10 minutes!! Now, Invincible has come on. This girl is...
It's that time of the month again...
…for BIG HAIR BINGO!!! So excited for some new friends making an appearance tomorrow night. I hope my good luck sticks with me and I come home with lots of prizes. Although my hair gets very big (especially when it’s air dried), I will be sporting a huge wig.
Back 2 School
Fall quarter started this week. Translation: I am tired, have worked way too many hours this week and I have to deal with way too many people with problems that I am not equipped to handle. School sux and so does my job right now. At least we only have this week once a year.
Congrats Michael Bumpus!!
The ex-Cougar just scored is first NFL touchdown! Now, if we can just hold on to our 17 point lead…
Why I love fall...
1. It becomes OK to sit inside all day
2. Sweaters, scarfs and tights
3. Pumpkin flavored everything is back on the shelves. In paticular, pumkin spice lattes at Starbucks
4. Preparation for the holiday season
5. Football - Cougs and Seahawks
6. TV comes back and I have lots of shows to TIVO and watch
7. Warm drinks
8. The crisp, fall air
This girl is OK with the rain that comes...
When it rains, I make crafts
Today I spent the majority of the day in my office. Jake made me a really cool craft table that hasn’t got much use yet. I love staying inside all day and making things when it is raining out. Today’s projects: a guest book with pictures for my friend Meagan and photo box organization.
Coworker S: I like your necklace.
Sarah: Thanks. I think I have had it since high school. I had to dig deep in the jewelry box to find it.
Coworker S: It looks like something you would have bought for a highschool dance.
Coworker S: Like maybe a winter tolo or something.
Sarah: I think it was.
Coworker S: Old School. Awesome.
Trendy Triathalon
Since Trevor and Alison moved to Southern California, Jake has mentioned participating in this Triathlon next September. Today was the 2008 tri and yes, that’s J-Lo participating. They actually have an entire celebrity division. No wonder the race was full by June. I fully support this endeavor for next fall.
Status Update: Seahawks lose in OT by a field... →
3 reasons (2 new) why I love the Seahawks today.
1. Marcus Trufant, duh.
2. Michael Bumpus
Michael is a former Coug who barely made the NFL practice squad. Due to the Seahwaks injuries of late, Bumpus made his first NFL start this afternoon. I followed Bumpus’ college career because he is from Culver City, CA aka the place of my birth. Given, I haven’t been back to Culver City since I was minutes old. My parents just found...
I am obsessed...
I spotted these beauties at Mi Shoes the other day and I am head over heels. The heel is so comfortable and the mix of colors makes them ultra versatile. I am counting down to days that I can make them my own…
San Francisco...check!!
I just booked a long weekend in San Francisco, December 12th-15th. We will be staying in this hotel compliments of Trevor and Alison. Now I just have to wait 3 months for a vacation!
The Cougars get "Iked" →
Because of the hurricane on its way to Waco, Texas, our game gets moved to Friday night and off the air. Maybe the change will help the Cougs. We know they can’t get any worse.
Local B-ham pick of the week
Film, food and festivities at Boundary’s Beer Garden.
This week, I participated in the most “local” event of all my local B-ham picks. As a part of Eat Local week, Boundary Baysponsored a film screening, participant panel and an all local BBQ. Jake also had a table set up representing his company, NABC. The movie, Good Food, is about Washington and Oregon farmers. It...
As if my weekend couldn't get any worse.
We also were invited to watch the Cougar game yesterday with friends in Bellingham. Due to the fact that Jake and I were both working, we had to decline. Around 4:15, I checked the score to see if the game was worth listening to. The score: 21-3. Cal went on to destroy us, in Pullman, with a final score of 66-3.
It is going to be a L-O-N-G season. At least we have basketball around the...
Status Update...
I did not get to attend my own B-ham pick of the week, thanks to a couple impromptu guests and a messy house. So sad. I did however replace the event with dinner out at Bayou on Bay, one of my favorite restaurants. Jake and I shared a corn fritter and Etouffee. Hands down my favorite Cajun meal. Yum!
Local B-ham pic of the week
Thanks to Toby for this tidbit…Will be attending this tomorrow after work and definitely enjoying a couple Boundary Bay beers. I have worked with NW Youth Services quite a bit and totally support the cause!
FIFTH ANNUAL SOUP FOR SHELTER IS SEPTEMBER 6 AT BOUNDARY BAY BREWERY AND BISTRO
Northwest Youth Services’ fifth annual Soup for Shelter is Saturday, September 6, 2008 from 4-8 p.m. at...
Google-what??
I was getting ready to post something about how lame this weekend was going to be. I have to work all day tomorrow, not for an event or anything fun just to catch up. Sick. I like to find funny pictures on the web that show my feelings. When I Googled “lame weekend pics”, these came up.
WTF?!? I mean those are some lame cars but I am not sure I understand the connection. At...
Jake and AIMir
jakehurwitz:
We just pushed a new design for Jake and Amir dot com. Amir’s brother, Ben, did the design and Cohen did the coding. I’m really excited about the entire thing, and one thing in particular. That particular thing is my new blog (which the image of me on the sidebar links to) where I’ve started a collection of the strange things Amir says to me online.
I like giving Jake’s character a...
New favorite Rock Band song
From the perspective of singing…”Call Me” by Blondie.
Last night, we played Rock Band (obviously) in my favorite format. You get into a rotation so that you play a different instrument for every song until you get cycled out every 5 songs. The song is always “Audience Choice”. This way you get to practice on everything and play songs that you might not always...
