My New Haircut
I have been thinking about cutting my hair for awhile and finally did it.  It is super short and I LOVE it.  The funny thing is that I have had it long for over 4 years so people at work thought that I was one of those people who would never cut it and only liked long hair.  Little did they know!  So far, I like it straight and under a hat but curly is still TBD.

Burlesque BINGO
Toby and I have been waiting 4 months to attend a BINGO night and last night our time finally came!  You gotta love a town that transforms an old school hall into Burlesque BINGO… Event highlights:  1. Moulin Rouge references, music and colors everywhere 2.  Fun favors on the table like whistles, necklaces, condom and lube 3. We ended up sitting next to Ray whose husband was working the bar...

I LOVE free stuff!
This morning, Brad (my carpool) and I stumbled upon Customer Appreciation Day at Cruisin Coffee right by our houses.  Actually, Jake heard it on the radio and yelled down just in time.  We got tall lattes, granola packets, and breakfast sandwiches.  ALL FREE!!  What a great way to start the day!

Local B-ham pick of the week.
I have been dying to post this one.  On the 4th Thurday of each month, the Evergreen AIDS Foundation hosts a themed Bingo fundraiser.  As soon as I heard about Drag Bingo (back in May), I knew I would have to make this event. Thursday night, Toby and I will be showing up in costume to Burlesque Bingo.  Who doesn’t want to play an old fashioned game with a drink in a corset??  Go B-ham!

Thanks Bridey!
I bumped into my friend Ashlee at the door of the Fairhaven.  She told us to mention a wedding party to receive a $2 discount.  I guess we were wedding after-party crashers.  It worked!  Thanks for saving us 8 bucks, Carrie (??).  Oh, and congratulations.

Guitar Hero Queen
Last night, against Paul and Jake, I went undefeated.  I only played 5 or 6 songs but held strong in each performance. I also FINALLY beat “Mother” on hard while Jake was getting ready.  This song is my nemesis. STATUS UPDATE:  Mother did not get saved last night.  I have already played it 4 times this morning and can’t beat it.  Noooooooooooo!!!!!!

Creme Tangerine v. Abbey Road LIVE
I feel like I am becoming a bit of a Beatles cover band connoisseur and must comment on how these 2 bands stack up together.  I had a blast dancing with Abbey Road LIVE and their impromptu acoustic version of Strawberry Fields at the end of the show was a real treat.  However, my pick is still Creme Tangerine.  Here are my reasons why: 1. Creme Tangerine is local.  They only play in Washington. ...

Dost my ears deceive me?
Near the end of my summer planning, I stumbled upon an ad for these guys… ABBEY ROAD LIVE!!! Another Beatles cover band was in my near future.  I went with Toby to Boundary Bay Brewery and danced all night to Beatles music.  They were great and played for almost 3 hours.  The dancing crowd at Beatles shows are always so fun.  Last night, there were the cheesy but adorable, older couples,...

I have a monstrous crush on...
Joel McHale - He is so funny on The Soup and often is a guest on my regular morning radio show, the Adam Corolla show.  Fun facts:Joel is from Mercer Island and his wife is named Sarah.

This is my new favorite commercial. I love when companies use music videos to sell stuff.  I haven’t been into Converse since the 5th grade but Pharrell makes them look pretty bad-ass.  I am such a sucker…

Adjusting to my new schedule
It is barely 8:00 and I am exhausted!  I started my 4 10’s this week which inevitable turned into 2 11’s.  The 3 day weekends are worth it but it is always a hard adjustment to be at work every day for so long.

Local B-ham pick of the week
I am always looking for local, fun things to do.  This is one of them. Bivalve bash is a seafood extravaganza and eating fest happening on Saturday at Taylor Shellfish farms.  Besides an oyster bar, they offer curried mussels, a beer and wine garden, a mud run, entertainment and good times all around.  Go B-ham. Clarification - Taylor Shellfish is in Bow which is in Skagit County. ...

Just a question...
Toby: What are you doing this weekend?
Sare: Going camping at Mosquito Lake
Toby: Why would you want to go anywhere that was called Mosquito Lake?
Sare: Good question...

2 weekends, 2 events with the word "slosh" in them
On July 5th, I participated in Rollerslosh and on July 12th, Sloshball.  Rules of sloshball: 1.  The event starts off with a cannon fire into the river, naturally. 2.  You must always have a cup in your hand, whether you are kicking, pitching or in the outfield. 3.  You must stop at 2nd base and drink before you can keep moving. 4.  Various other rules made up by the annual referee, Jerry (he...

I am officially head over heels...
for San Francisco, California.  Really, all of Northern California.  I was with people I had just met and could not stop saying how cute everything was.  I am making a commitment to return this year and really see the city.  Hmmm…I wonder if San Francisco City College is hiring.
