Halloween Night In
Jake and I had a fun Halloween night in tonight.  We ate take out and handed out candy to trick or treaters.  Much to my disappointment, we only had 10 kids.  We also drank some pumpkin ale and watched a spooky movie.  I used to love horror movies until I watched Saw.  I have taken a 3 year hiatus until last night.  Luckily, the one nice thing about horror movies is that they are totally...

My Life is Complete...
myaujourdhui: Finally - after months of speculation, it is for realies… BEATLES ROCKBAND!!!!!! OMFG!!!  This is the 2nd time I heard about this today.   The first was an email from my friend/coworker with a subject line reading, “Two of your favorites coming together…”  My response:  “THIS.IS.AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Best part of going to the gym…good TV.  Tonight I was watching the top 100 hip-hop videos of all time.  Is it weird that I literally had goose bumps every time they announced the next song?!?  Big Pun, Lil Kim, Black Sheep, J. Phat, I love it all!  I learned about HUSH TOURS.  Basically, a bus tour led by an old school rapper through Harlem.  I will be on this tour, no matter who I am with...

Kind of athletic.
Tonight, I went swimming for the 2nd week in a row.  I swam 500 meters up 100 meters from last week.  I even swam 100 meters in a row.  I have always thought of myself as the opposite of athletic and although I thought I would die and my head was pounding after swimming, it also feels kind of cool.  Tomorrow night will be my 3rd week in a row at yoga class.  I would say that I am kind of an...

Keep it Crimson
I stumbled upon this blog featuring the Cougar men’s basketball team.  With this football season, these boys are my only hope for success in sports.  For a Cougar junkie like me, this blog is great.  It features practice highlights, personal stories about the boys, and media appearances.  Can’t wait for basketball season! HAPPY HOUR WEDNESDAY
Tonight, for the second week in a row, I went out to happy hour with co-workers.  This week, we tried the Harborside Bistro which is inside the beautiful Bellwether Hotel.  This place has amazing views out to the water and great food specials until 6:00.  I had an Italian chop salad, shared a crab dip and sipped on Boundary Bay IPA.  Yum!!

WatchWatch
This rap from SNL last night is hands down the funniest sketch since Junk in a Box.  If you go to the website, the lyrics are also posted.  Time to start memorizing so I can bust it out at a party.  Jake will play Todd who is my favorite part of the sketch.

Good to be home
I have to say that I was slightly expecting to want to pack up and move to Oregon, thanks to www.findyourspot.com.  Although we had a GREAT weekend and there were some really cute places, I have to say that I think I like Bellingham way better.  I always say that B-ham is as small as a city that I would want to live in and for Jake it is the biggest.  It really is a perfect combination for us to...

Mila supports the cougs from Sedro-Woolley
Mila loves hanging out at her grandparents house.  This weekend she started to get ready for the holidays while giving the Cougars some love!  She may look a little sad but that is because it is a hard year to be a Cougar fan…

Random reason I am excited to go to Covallis, OR
We have an older, retired couple in our neighborhood that is originally from England.  At a neighborhood function, someone asked them how they ended up in Bellingham.  They told us that they wanted to move somewhere to retire and narrowed down where by visiting a website called www.findyourspot.com.  They had never been to Bellingham before but it was the only common city in their top five.  They...

Off to Corvallis
We will be enjoying a nice, fall football game here this weekend with our good friends Mike and Leslee. When Leslee told me that they were moving to Oregon, I said we would come visit them at least every other year when the Cougs came to town.  I can’t wait to see our friends but am not looking forward to being a Cougar during a season like this surrounded by hometown Beaver fans.  I am...

Grocery Shopping for one
In Jake’s absence this week, I made a quick run to Trader Joes for food for myself this week.  It is such a guilty pleasure buying just what I wanted and nothing more.  I love Trader Joes pre-made section and picked up the following:  2 Sushi’s, 2 pre-made salads, pizza margarita, milk, fruit, crumpets, frozen waffles and even ice cream and pita chips for a treat.  Plenty of healthy...

Do you miss them?
I know I sure miss attending my Local B-ham pick of the weeks!  The problem is that as summer has faded away, there seems to be less going on.  I am hoping that fall festival/holiday events will start up and I will be attending all of them!  I might try to highlight a few more B-ham restaurants in its place.  Stay tuned!
