Skagit County Tavern Crawl
My friend Aimee put together a tavern crawl for her 29th birthday. They rented a party bus so everyone had a safe ride. Who knew this even existed in Bellingham? We had such a fun night eating fried food and drinking cheap beer. I was able to wear shorts for the last time of the year I am sure. And the best part about it…I was home by 10:30pm!

Welcome Back T & A!
Our great friends, Trevor and Alison are moving from Honolulu to Connecticut and made Bellingham their first stop on a west coast tour. We got to a beautiful day and toured the orchard. Jake worked a short day and we got a babysitter. It was a really fun visit. Alison took a lot of pictures with her fancy camera at the farm so I didn’t end of with any of my own.
Expect for this cutie of...
Weekend in Portland
To celebrate my Mom’s birthday and catch my girlfiend’s wedding, my parents, Ellis and I drove down for a weekend (almost) in Portland. The trip ended up being a bit of a whirlwind and we didn’t actually spend anytime in the city.
Our first stop was the Kennedy school house for lunch. I have always wanted to take my parents here. They posed in front of the Honors Bar, just...
SF visit in pictures
Ellis being silly with her favorite Aunty Krissy. We loved playing “My 2 Moms” all weekend!
The newly married couple at the Palace of Fine Arts.
The infamous Golden Gate Bridge picture. Wait, where is the bridge? It was pretty blistery out which would have been fine except for I had to leave Bellingham on an 80 degree weekend.
Spotted: Ellis street. We shopped here...

My baby on a plane
This is my baby on a plane.
This is my baby on a barrell.
This is my baby in front of a bridge.
This is my baby inside a suitcase.
It's still summer at BelleWood Acres
These beautiful days have brough Ellis and I out to the farm all summer. We usually visit for lunch or to take a walk around the orchard. Jake has been working so much that he really enjoys every extra second he gets to spend with his girl(s). This week was so sunny and warm and September is especially nice because the apples are on the trees. On clear days, the view of Mount Baker is...
Ellis @ 4 months
Everybody said how much fun a 3 month old would be and I have to agree…they were right. This past month, Ellis has really developed into a little person who smiles, giggles, does a few tricks and loves hanging out with Mom and Dad. This month has been filled with lots of developmental changes. She went from barely tolerating tummy time to spending 20 plus minutes on the floor in one...

Trip to AZ
We took Ellis on a plane for the first time and she was a dream! We were lucky to get an entire row so she could sit in her carseat and sleep for the entire 3 hour flight. When we arrived, the temp was around 113 degrees and it stayed there the whole trip. I never saw it dip below 95, even at 6:45am!
Needless to say, we spent most of our days inside. Either in our casita, the mall, or a...
Celebrating 31
My birthday celebration came early this year. We got a babysitter on Thursday night for the first time and left Ellis behind for some adult fun. I put on heels and curled my hair - all on a week night!
We went to the Ridge Wine Bar and the Honeymoon. The Ridge had a band that played a Bob Dylan album. I was so happy that so many friends could come out…especially the moms!
Thursday...
Festival at the River
Each August, my parents attend this music festival which brings pretty big music acts for free. This year, Ellis and I also attended. Friday was the hippie music day, as described by my Dad. I put Ellis in a hippie skirt to enjoy the event.
She is no stranger to live music but I was amazed at how well she did for this event. She fell asleep on her side (could she be any cuter?) and stayed...
Ellis @ 14 weeks - Burlington Childrens Museum
Today (Ellis’ 14th week birthday) I ended up in Skagit County. I was supposed to meet a friend who had to cancel but since Ellis and I were up and ready to go, we took the drive South anyways. I surprised my nieces but picking them up and taking them to the Childrens Museum in Burlington. This place is great! We had fun playing store, fishing, operating a crane, putting on a play and...
I now prounounce you...Krevin!
It is official, my BFF is now a Mrs. The Krevin wedding was set on perfection from start to finish. The weather was beautiful and warm, their ceremony was so special, the surprise rap was hilarious and the amount of happiness oozing from the bride and groom was ridiculous.
I was a horrible documenter the day of the wedding but did manage to get a few shots with the girl, the girls, and the...
Mamas Gone Wild!!
Beckster came up with a game that involved counting steps and taking photos along the way all the way back to our cottage. Of course, I thought it was super cool. Let’s just say that we haven’t been able to spend time together in a LONG time without being pregnant or having our babies with us. Things just got a little weird…
Weekend at Roche Harbor
This past weekend was the highlight of my summer - the Krevin wedding! Everything about the weekend and the wedding was just perfect - starting with the welcome BBQ pictured here. We shared a beach cottage with the Koehlers and my parents and had nothing but fun, fun, fun from start to finish.
The weather was perfect and warm as soon as we hit San Juan Island. After lunch at Friday Harbor...
Ellis @ 13 weeks
Today marks the 13th week that Ellis has been with our family and tomorrow marks her 3 month birthday. Her newest trick can be seen in the video. Stick with it, she finally gets going at 39 seconds. You can see how much Ellis’ bubbles cracks me up. Every single time.
Besides this, Ellis has had a bit of a developmental lull this week. She hasn’t rolled over...
Summer Travel
My extended maternity leave made it possible to book 2 vacations in the next month. The first one is to Phoenix. We are traveling for a wedding reception at the end of August. The temps during this time should stay above 100 degrees which I am not so excited about. However, lodging is crazy cheap so we are staying at a 5 star resort for just over $100 per night. This will be our first plane...

Ellis @ 12 weeks
Ellis learned some pretty cool tricks this week. The main one was rolling over. She rolled over on Saturday for the first time and then again on Sunday. This time she rolled over 4 times in a row! Interestingly enough, she has not done it since and decided that she is not so into tummy time anymore.
Her other trick is grasping objects. She has a toy hanging from her car seat (Mr. Tweets)...
Summer fun with cousins
We finally got a nice enough day to head to the pool at Birch Bay and take a swim. Well, my neices took a swim while Ellis and I did a little sunbathing.
Don’t worry, there was still time for baby cuddling! I am so happy that I still have 2 more months off work. I can’t wait to enjoy August and September with my girl. I sure hope that our summer weather is FINALLY here.
Ellis @ 11 weeks
This week Ellis had her 2 month check up with Dr. Kelley, even though she is almost 2 and a half months old. I was actually really excited about this visit since we weren’t dealing with weight issues or breastfeeding drama any more. Here are her stats:
Weight: 11 pounds, 3 ounces (50th percentile)
Height: 24.75 inches (above 95th percentile)
Head: 38.5 centimeters (10th percentile)

Adventure of the week - Baby n Me class
This week Ellis and I started a parenting class that we go to together. There are 12 other babies in the class ranging from 2.5 months (Ellis is the youngest) to 10 months. I love getting connected with so many moms in Bellingham through all the different groups that I am a part of. It is so great to learn from other moms and to share a bit about what I have figured out so far.
A lot of class...
